The Lofoten Experience

A 5-day transformative journey into one of the most magical places in the world. You’ll learn first hand from Alex Strohl how to produce & shoot two commercial assignments for real brands with real deliverables.

The Lofoten Islands are like nowhere else on earth. We could fit this entire experience into one small fjord and still not scratch the surface. The scenery operates on a different scale — and after years of coming back, it's still the trip I look forward to most. Keep scrolling for the whole program and itinerary.

The Live Brief

Execute a real commercial assignment

You have thousands of beautiful images. But when you pitch a $50k contract, brands don't just ask "Can you take a nice photo?" They ask "Can you execute a brief under pressure?"

Most photographers never get the chance to practice a real commercial assignment until their reputation is already on the line.

A 5-Day Live Production

We have partnered with a major outdoor brand to give you a real-world commercial assignment. When we head out in the field, you're not just "taking pictures". You are executing a professional creative brief.

You will work under Alex Strohl's creative direction to deliver a specific set of assets. You'll learn how to:

  • Manage a shot list under real field conditions
  • Handle client expectations on the ground
  • Deliver "Hero" assets that meet global brand standards

The Outcome

On top of leaving with photos of the elusive Puma, you leave with a case study.

You leave with the ability to say: "I executed the 2026 Fall Campaign brief in the wilds of Patagonia." That sentence alone is worth the price of the trip.

THE PROBLEM

Your portfolio looks like every other adventure photographer's.

A disjointed collection of wonderful places with a handful of portraits mixed in. Smart brand managers see a tourist with expensive glass, not a storyteller.

What brands desperately need is someone who can move audiences. You can't do that with just "nice photos."

What you need is a body of work that says:

  • My vision is unique

  • I can tell a story with my camera

  • I can make impressive photos in most conditions

Your portfolio is missing tensionmovement, and a few "impossible shots".

THE MISSION

We're going on an expedition

We've secured a fleet of 70 Series Land Cruisers and the best trackers down south to put you face to face with the apex predator of the Andes. This is a 5-day, high-focus immersion.

Your Lofoten H.Q

Our basecamp is Estancia Cerro Guido, a historic Patagonian ranch set on a sprawling 155,000 acre private reserve with unparalleled access to Torres del Paine National Park. With sweeping views of the Paine Massif and a warm, rustic charm, the estancia offers a peaceful and authentic setting to unwind after long days in the field.

Cortado O'clock

As with any of our retreats, you can expect the highest level of coffee experience — both espresso and slow bar will be available at different times of the day to unwind or to learn how to pull your first shot.
